5 years of Shampooing

The “Shampooing” collection by publishers Delcourt celebrates it’s 5th year.

To mark the occasion the Festival is taking the opportunity to focus on the collection by organising drawing meetings during the weekend of the festival, lead by Lewis Trondheim.

Authors present to celebrate the anniversary will include:

ROCK’N’ART au Molodoï les 13 et 14 mars

The dynamic association VDK is organising the second Strasbourg convention of Rock n Art mixing, as the name indicates, rock music and exhibitions by artists displaying work influenced by Rock such as illustrations, tatoos, comic-strips and photographs.

Saturday 14th March will be entirely dedicated to music with a set of five groups spanning the spectrum of contemporary rock music types.

On sunday 15th March the salle Molodoï will be transformed into an exhibition space, three rock groups will perform, and throughout you will be able to meet numerous artists who have come to present their work.

Antoine Bernhart, Marie Meïer are two which will leave an impression!

Exposition « belles illustrations n°3″ à la médiathèque Malraux jusqu’au 9 mars


Exhibition of authors of the review 2-9 March, Library Andre Malraux

Large scale review of comic-strip and illustration in black and white, Belles Illustrations is back for it’s thrid year. Founded by former students of the studio of ESAD, Belles Illustrations offers a peek at emerging authors.

The accompanying book with cover signed by Jérémy Piningre and central spread by François Brunet offers 110 pages showcasing the drawings and narratives of 19 young authors.

Including: Baptiste Alchourroun, Alexis Beauclair, Sylvestre Bouquet, François Brunet, Étienne Chaize, Guillaume Chauchat, Sophie Guerrive, Bettina Henni, Domitille Leca, Mathieu Lefèvre, Roxane Lumeret, Léon Maret, Thomas Maury, Joëlle Merizen, Bénédicte Muller, Clément Paurd, Alexandra Pichard, Jérémy Piningre, Marie Saarbach, Baptiste Virot.

Café BD de Mars, thème : « la Guerre », les albums présentés

During this meeting of the ABD association, we shared our impressions on numerous albums with a tipple, then those who wished to stayed to eat in the little room made available to us by Cédric of the “Tire Bouchon”. The room is particularly agreable for fans of illustration as the walls display drawings and sketches by Mr Claude Weisbuch, a well known Alsatian artist.

We discovered the following titles:

We had the chance to flip through the English adaptaion of volume one of ‘Garulfo’ by Maïorana and Ayroles adapted by Bart Hulley our Englishman in Strasbourg sent by the editors Delcourt who have appreciated his work. Lets hope that this signs the beginning of a profitable relationship for both !!!

At the end of the meeting, Yannick Bailly and J.C. Caurette showed us numerous limted-edition prints for sale from diverse and prestigious authors and publishers.

The theme of the next meeting is Thread… yes, it will be in April !
